How to detect deformation degree of a soft at force, collis?

Hello,
I need some help. I use soft bodies in my app. What I want to do is to detect how much deformation the model suffered after collision with another object, or after an applied force. I need this because I want to inform the user that he applied too much force to the object, breaking it, or something like that.

My soft body is a cylinder decomposed in 32 clusters. Some ideas?

Thank you!

Since I didnt find any satisfying answer/solution and at last find these topic which is also my question. I tried callbacks, directing accessing the nodes of the softbodies, manifoldpoints, etc... Nothing is satisfying.

Is there any possibility to measure acting impulse, force or deformation on soft bodies?

At least i think its essential to provide the information behind the implemented theory of the dynamics of softbodies in order to get correct solutions when you are working with them. Its a pity that such a great software like bullet physics leaks for documentation and you will always just referred to the demos, which of course are also not well documented.

Best,
