Bullet physics outside the GE?

Hey... I've been reading a bunch, but little seems known about using Bullet outside the Game engine.

Is it possible to access the Bullet python API from within the regular blender python api?

I'm interested in doing a ragdoll without needing the GE (record it's motion to ipos, or just a live adaptation of a rig)
