How to identify when bodies are "crushed"?

Post by josemarin »

Hi.

Imagine a body (A) that is between two other bodies (B and C).

B A C

B pushes A to the right, and C pushes A to the left.

B-> A <-C

The material of A (glass, wood, etc) supports a pressure of intensity X .

It´s possible to identify the pressure that is been applyed to a body?

Another situation is when you have a stack of boxes.

A box supports a pressure of intensity X .

If you stack too many boxes, the ones on the bottom will break.

Thanks!
