armature integration

Post by dubois »

are there any plans for integration with blender's armature system?

Using the Blender armatures UI is an interesting idea. At the moment armatures are just using IK, isn't it? We could add bullet physics contraints (like point to point) to keep the armature together, to allow for ragdolls. Is that what you meant?

At the moment the armatures have been redone inside Blender, and the game engine code needs to be updated. I haven't had the spare time to make this change yet.

Thanks,
Erwin

Yes, that's what I had in mind. On top of ragdoll type simulation it might be interesting to ``blend'' physics based motion with predefined action sequences (with some adjustable weight factor) or even precalculate effective forces based on a given action and then play back the resulting force sequence in the game engine.

best,
