Ageia, PS3 Cell, and nVidia (GPU) demos discussed (also see links for video demos from Ageia and nVidia+Havok FX). While hardware accelerated physics are early demos, it's a pretty good start. A standardized physics API such as an OpenPL or DirectPhysics would be useful to promote adoption of HW accelerated physics.
