Soft Body Dynamic Subdivision and Growth

Post by MamboDave »

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and thought I may as well show you what I'm working on.

I decided to use Bullet for my final year university project on '3D Modeling through Physical Simulation of Soft Bodies'. Basically I'm working on a system that allows you to 'grow' models by subdividing points and then changing the lengths of the springs connecting them. At the moment I'm still using the Bullet demos framework to develop. I've modified the renderer slightly to remove the gaps in the soft body rendering.

Some screenshots. The first one is the starting point:

And just one more crazy one :)

Anyway hope you found that interesting, I'll post some more when I take things further

Cheers,

Dave

Hey, that is pretty cool, would love to see a video in action of authoring/growing something that way.

Thanks! I'm going to try and get a video uploaded somewhere once I get it out of its strange broken state
