Physics programmer position in Boston

Post by pcashman21 »

The person in this position will be responsible for developing finite element-based soft tissue representations that support real-time interaction with surgical tools. The successful candidate should be familiar with the extensive prior work in the field of surgical simulation including finite element formulations (both traditional nonlinear approaches as well as various real-time approximations), real-time collision detection and response between rigid and deformable objects, multi-processor/core implementations, and integration with haptics devices. He or she must have experience with developing C/C++ code for their own finite element implementations or the C/C++ code of open source finite element implementations, with emphasis is on numerical programming and effective performance optimization. The successful candidate will work with a similarly skilled team already in place.

The position is based in Boston, and there will be little or no travel. SimQuest LLC (http://www.simquest.com), headquartered in Silver Spring, MD, is dedicated to providing technology-led education and training that fosters improved quality of medical care and increased patient safety.
